The UNOAU Chief of Staff, Ms. Nathalie Ndongo-Seh, attended the inauguration ceremony of the African Standby Force (ASF) Continental Logistics Base on  5th January, 2018. This base is located in Douala in the Republic of Cameroon as per a 2015 Memorandum of Understanding between the African Union and the administration in Douala. 

The ceremony was presided over by Prime Minister Philemon Yang, on behalf of President Paul Biya of Cameroon. The Prime Minister indicated that the Continental Logistics Base ensures adequate infrastructure for a rapid deployment of African troops, thus conferring the African Union more autonomy in the conduct of its humanitarian and peacekeeping operations.
