UNOAU Participates in Training of Trainers on Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse in African PSOs
From 26–30 May, UNOAU participated in the “Training the Trainers: Enhancing Expertise on Preventing Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (SEA) in African Peace Support Operations.” The Training of Trainers was convened by the Cairo International Centre for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding in partnership with the AU Peace Support Operations Division. Participants were drawn from the MNJTF, regional centres of excellence, national training institutes, RECs/RMs, and relevant CSOs.
SRSG Parfait Onanga-Anyanga was in the high-level opening panel discussing the topic: SEA Prevention as a Compliance Imperative – Unlocking UNSCR 2719 Financing for African PSOs, alongside three other panellists. Experiences from the field were shared from AUSSOM, SAMIM, and UN conduct and discipline teams.
