From 5 to 6 October, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the AU Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) along with Members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), held the 8^th Informal Joint Seminar (IJS) and the 17th Joint Annual Consultative Meeting to strengthen collaboration between both Councils in a joint effort to promote global peace, security, and stability.

During the IJS, both Councils reflected on thematic issues, including Financing of AU-led Peace Support Operations (PSOs), YPS, and Working Methods to Enhance Cooperation between the AUPSC and the UNSC.

During the 17^th Annual Joint Consultative Meeting, both Councils examined country-specific and regional situations, including Sudan, the Sahel Region, Somalia and the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS), as well as the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

A joint Communiqué was issued immediately following the conclusion of the meeting.
