The International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers is celebrated annually on 29 May. During the commemoration, the UN pays tribute to all the women and men who have served in UN peacekeeping operations to recognize and honour their sacrifice, dedication and courage. This year’s commemoration will be held under the theme “People. Peace. Progress. The Power of Partnerships”.

The panel discussion will focus on the success and lessons learned from peacekeeping missions on the role of partnerships in enhancing the effectiveness of peacekeeping missions. We aim to bring together representatives from the UN, the AU and various stakeholders to reflect on how partnerships in peacekeeping have contributed to the management of conflicts by illustrating missions' experiences and their impact. Further information can be found in the concept note and agenda below.
