UNOAU and CCCPA Strengthen Partnership with New MoU

UNOAU and the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA), an Egyptian public agency established in 1994 by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Aswan Forum in Cairo on 2-3 July.

The MoU, signed by Ambassador Ahmed Abdel-Latif, Director-General of CCCPA, and SRSR Parfait Onanga-Anyanga, aims to bolster joint efforts in supporting the African Union, its Regional Economic Communities/Regional Mechanisms, and Member States.

The MoU provides a framework for cooperation, enhancing collaboration in areas of common interest. These include capacity-building, policy development, and research to strengthen the UN-AU partnership in peace and security in Africa. It formalizes UNOAU-CCCPA collaboration through bi-annual reflection and planning sessions focused on reviewing and strategizing joint activities.
