The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Chairperson of the African Union Commission. The leaders discussed various governance challenges, including the increase in unconstitutional changes of government in Africa. They also discussed efforts aimed at reforming the international financial system, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals in Africa, and accelerating climate action. They committed to accelerating efforts to ensure predictable financing, including through United Nations-assessed contributions, for African Union-led peace support operations.
