The 11^th United Nations – African Union – Regional Economic Communities and Regional Mechanisms (RECs/RMs) Consultative Meeting on the Prevention and Management of Conflict took place in Addis Ababa in the beginning of December. Participants came up with actionable recommendations for improved joint analysis and harmonized action after holding discussions on thematic issues in Africa during the two day meeting.  

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Mr. Haile Menkerios and Commissioner for Peace and Security at the African Union, Ambassador Smaїl Chergui both delivered opening remarks.
