A delegation of UN Security (UNSC) Members traveled to Addis Ababa from 6th to 8th September, 2017 for the annual consultative meeting with their counterparts at the AU Peace and Security Council (AU PSC). During the mission, UNSC Members were briefed by SRSG and Head of UNOAU, Mr. Menkerios as well as SRSG Keating, Head of UN Assistance Mission in Somalia, UNSOM. The Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Hailemariam Desalegn also met with the delegation ahead of an informal meeting at the African Union Commission. On the 8th September, the 11th Annual Joint Consultative Meeting between the UNSC Members and the AU PSC was held at the African Union head-quarters. The two Councils deliberated on the situations in Somalia, South Sudan and the Lake Chad Basin.
