Ambassador Mohamed Khaled outlined the AU PSC’s August programme of work, including discussions on South Sudan, Sudan and the Sahel, as well as thematic sessions on education in conflict situations, Silencing the Guns and counter-terrorism. He also highlighted planned consultations and engagements with key African Union institutions and the African three members of the UN Security Council (A3).
Both sides reaffirmed the importance of continuing to strengthen the strategic partnership between the African Union and the United Nations, with the Ambassador expressing appreciation for UNOAU’s continued support to the work of the AU PSC.
