UNOAU held a meeting with Mr. Mahamane Cisse-Gouro, Chief of the Africa Branch of OHCHR and Ms. Nwanneakolam Vwede-Obahor Director of the OHCHR Regional Office on 11th October, 2017. UNOAU briefed the OHCHR colleagues about recent developments in the UN-AU partnership in peace and security, including on strengthening the AU compliance framework on Human Rights, Conduct and Discipline and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. The teams also discussed the OHCHR-AU annual meeting on Human Rights and the forthcoming High-Level Dialogue on Human Rights scheduled to take place next year. The teams agreed on the necessity to continue working closely together in supporting the African Union in the area of Human Rights.
