SRSG Menkerios and a UNOAU team met with a delegation from the European Union Delegation to the African Union. The purpose of this meeting was to (re)invigorate relations and also to discuss ways for enhancing cooperation that supports partnership with the African Union.

In light of strengthened relations between the leadership of the UN Secretariat, AU Commission and EU Commission the meeting also addressed issues for further discussion with the AU Commission. The three organisations’ comparative advantage will be discussed to enhance tripartite cooperation in the area of peace and security.
