On 23 March, SRSG Parfait Onanga-Anyanga participated in a dialogue forum marking the International Day of La Francophonie, organized the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie in collaboration with the African Union and UNDP. Held under the theme “Génération paix, contribution de la jeunesse pour un monde plus apaisé” (“A generation for peace: youth contributions to a more peaceful world”), the forum brought together institutions, diplomats and young leaders to examine how youth can strengthen peace, social cohesion, conflict prevention and democratic governance. On 24 March, Parfait Onanga-Anyanga, Special Representative of the Secretary General to the African Union and Head of the United Nations Office to the African Union met with the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Türkiye to the African Union, H.E. On 31 March, the United Nations Office to the African Union participated in a hybrid webinar hosted by the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace and Disarmament in Africa on the gendered impact of small arms and light weapons and ammunition on women.
